President Donald Trump has stated that he will not release frozen Iranian assets or lift any sanctions until a peace agreement with Tehran is finalized.
In a recent interview with NBC News' "Meet the Press," President Trump indicated that any consideration of such measures would only occur subsequent to the successful conclusion of a deal.
"Comes after," Trump stated when asked about the timing of these actions. He added, "Yeah. If they behave, if they do a good job, we start talking. Yeah."
Furthermore, President Trump clarified that the inclusion of Lebanon in any short-term agreement with Iran was not a requirement he was imposing.
