Roy Keane and Bruno Fernandes Clear the Air After Pundit's Criticism

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has revealed that midfielder Bruno Fernandes reached out to him for a "lovely chat" to clear the air following Keane's outspoken punditry.

Keane, known for his no-holds-barred opinions on his former club, admitted that his critiques have sometimes been directed at Fernandes. However, the former captain shared that the Portugal international initiated contact, leading to a mature conversation where misunderstandings were addressed.

“He reached out to me, he wanted a chat," Keane explained. "And do you know what? I did. I called him and we had a lovely chat. Lovely chat about a bit of everything, really. But it was nice because again, when we do podcasts or games, sometimes you think you say something afterwards, you’re trying to communicate something that doesn’t come across properly. And people get upset and he wanted to speak to me. And we had a nice mature conversation."

Keane humorously added that Fernandes "apologized" and that they've now "moved on." He emphasized the importance of such communication, especially for a key player like Fernandes and an ex-United player like himself. Keane expressed that he felt "better afterwards" following the discussion.

The focus now shifts to Fernandes' role in potentially leading Manchester United to silverware. Despite his individual brilliance, including a record-breaking 21 Premier League assists in the recent season, Fernandes has only secured an FA Cup and a Carabao Cup during his time at the club. The 31-year-old is likely eager to achieve major titles like the Premier League or Champions League with the team, which is showing signs of improvement under new management.
