Man Utd Reignite Interest in Dortmund's Julian Ryerson, €30M Price Tag Set

Manchester United are reportedly back in the hunt for Borussia Dortmund's versatile full-back Julian Ryerson, with the German club valuing the Norwegian at around €30 million (£25.6 million). United are on the lookout for defensive reinforcements and see Ryerson as an ideal candidate to strengthen their right flank, especially with Champions League football on the horizon.

According to German outlet BILD, Manchester United have re-established contact regarding a potential transfer for the 28-year-old defender. This renewed interest comes after initial talks had previously simmered before the World Cup. While Dortmund are keen to extend Ryerson's contract and don't actively want to let him go, they would entertain a significant offer.

United are drawn to Ryerson's blend of physicality and pace, believing he's well-suited for the demands of the Premier League. His stock has significantly risen following an impressive club season with Dortmund, where he proved to be a creative force, racking up an impressive 15 assists from a deep-lying position. He has also carried this form onto the international stage.

Ryerson's performances for Norway in the World Cup have been a major highlight, particularly his "truly outstanding" display in their upset victory over tournament favorites Brazil. Despite battling a thigh injury earlier in the group stages, he returned to put in a tireless performance, effectively neutralizing Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior and completing an impressive 93% of his passes.

While Erling Haaland grabbed the headlines with a brace in that match, scouts were reportedly highly impressed by Ryerson's disciplined defensive work. His contributions have been instrumental in Norway's historic run to the World Cup quarter-finals, setting up a highly anticipated clash with England.
