World Cup Youngster Lucas Herrington Eyed by Premier League Giants

Premier League powerhouses Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United are reportedly in the race to sign promising 18-year-old Australian defender Lucas Herrington.

The highly-rated youngster, currently playing for Colorado Rapids in Major League Soccer, has generated significant buzz after his standout performances at the recent 2026 World Cup. This has put him on the radar of several top clubs eager to secure his signature.

According to TEAMtalk, Herrington is attracting interest not only from Liverpool and Manchester United but also from Everton, Aston Villa, and Newcastle United. Furthermore, Chelsea and Manchester City have reportedly held initial talks, with Barcelona also showing a strong interest in the defender.

Born in Australia, Herrington has already earned six senior caps for his country and made history as their youngest-ever starter at a World Cup. Despite having eligibility for Germany, Finland, and Zimbabwe, he committed to representing Australia.

Having started his career at Brisbane Roar before moving to Colorado Rapids, Herrington is widely expected to make a move to Europe this summer. While Barcelona is said to have the most concrete interest, Chelsea and other English clubs remain strong contenders, potentially offering him competitive projects and Champions League football.
