A man was fatally struck by three vehicles in a hit-and-run incident in Long Beach on Monday evening, authorities reported.
The Long Beach Police Department received a report at approximately 11:44 p.m. concerning a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle in the vicinity of Ocean Boulevard and Golden Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male individual in the roadway. Emergency medical services pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a black vehicle, traveling eastbound on Ocean Boulevard west of Golden Avenue, struck the pedestrian who was crossing the street northbound, away from a designated crosswalk. The driver of this vehicle reportedly fled the scene eastbound on Ocean Boulevard.
Subsequently, the pedestrian was struck a second time by a white truck and a third time by a red sedan. Investigators confirmed that the drivers of both the truck and the sedan also failed to remain at the scene.
The Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner is currently undertaking the process of identifying the deceased. Authorities are appealing to the public for any witnesses to this collision.
