Juventus is reportedly in talks with Manchester United and Joshua Zirkzee's representatives about a potential transfer, offering the Dutch striker an exit route from Old Trafford back to Serie A.
Zirkzee, who joined United in 2024, has struggled to nail down a starting spot. A return to Italy, where he previously impressed with Bologna, could provide the consistent game time he's seeking. Juventus, under new manager Luciano Spalletti, are keen to bolster their attacking lineup and are considering Zirkzee as an option, potentially alongside or as an alternative to PSG's Randal Kolo Muani.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus sporting director Frederic Massara has initiated discussions with United and Zirkzee's camp. While the club initially saw Zirkzee as a backup plan for Kolo Muani, they are now contemplating signing both if finances permit. Zirkzee himself is reportedly open to returning to Italy, having enjoyed his most productive spell there with Bologna.
Manchester United views Zirkzee as a player who could be moved on, but they are focused on structuring a deal that protects their initial investment, reportedly valuing him around €35-40 million. Football Italia suggests a loan with an option to buy could be a possibility, allowing Juventus to assess the player while reducing immediate financial risk.
From United's perspective, a simple loan without a guaranteed future sale might not be ideal, as it could leave them in a similar position next summer. For Zirkzee, consistent football in Italy appears to be the priority. However, any deal must ensure it creates squad space and offers a clear financial benefit for the Red Devils.
