The United Arab Emirates has further solidified its global leadership in artificial intelligence adoption with the launch of the world's first integrated judicial platform powered by AI in Abu Dhabi. His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, announced the platform's launch, hailing it as "a new global achievement added to the UAE's record of accomplishments." In a statement on the platform 'X', he stated that the launch exemplifies the UAE's belief that innovation is the pathway to faster and more efficient justice, reinforcing the country's position as a global model for governmental and judicial development.
This project is part of a comprehensive UAE strategy to harness AI across vital sectors, including the judiciary, to boost governmental performance and improve the quality of services for individuals and institutions, while upholding the highest standards of accuracy and transparency. The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, in collaboration with the Department of Government Enablement, has conducted several coordination meetings to discuss the implementation mechanisms of the AI Judicial Platform. The platform aims to support judicial and legal decision-making using AI technologies, with ultimate oversight and verification remaining with human personnel to ensure the accuracy of judgments and the integrity of procedures.
According to the executive plan, the platform will cover all stages of the judicial workflow, from case registration and procedural management to decision assignment. This is expected to expedite case resolution, standardize procedures, and achieve the highest levels of efficiency and consistency in judicial operations. The joint project committee has discussed the implementation timeline, with the first phase of the platform slated for launch in September. The full rollout is expected to be completed gradually over 18 months, allowing for continuous testing and development before full operational capacity is reached.
Yousif Al-Abri, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, emphasized that the project reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to cement leadership, innovation, and the adoption of future technologies to elevate the quality of government services, noting that the development of the judicial system is a key focus of the nation's digital transformation. Al-Abri further explained that the platform will offer an integrated suite of smart solutions with advanced capabilities to manage various stages of litigation, contributing to faster processing, enhanced judicial operations, and providing decision-makers with precise data and analytics, all while maintaining full human oversight to bolster trust and reliability in the system's outputs.
