Mac Allister's Liverpool Future Uncertain Amid No New Contract Talks

Alexis Mac Allister's time at Liverpool could be nearing an end, as journalist Ben Jacobs reports the club is not currently planning to offer the midfielder a new contract.

Jacobs revealed on The Redmen TV that Liverpool is adopting a data-driven strategy for squad decisions. This approach means Mac Allister might be allowed to leave if his on-field performance doesn't sway the club's current thinking. While the situation could evolve throughout the season, the World Cup winner's future at Anfield remains up in the air.

The transfer insider stated that Liverpool isn't actively working on a contract extension for the Argentine international at this moment. "As it stands, Liverpool are not going to act upon a new contract for him," Jacobs explained. "Only the course of the season could change their mind." This comes as a contrast to recent long-term deals signed by teammates Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch.

Mac Allister himself has expressed his disappointment about the lack of a contract offer. Speaking before Liverpool's Champions League match against Atletico Madrid, he shared that the club informed him they weren't in a position to extend his terms. "I received the news that the club was not in a position to offer me a new contract, which makes me very, very sad because everyone can see I give 100% for this football club every single day in training," he stated.

Despite the uncertainty, Mac Allister remains committed to giving his all for Liverpool. "I will give 100% until the last day I'm here," he assured fans. However, unless his performances convince Liverpool's management to rethink their stance, his potential departure at the season's conclusion could become a significant talking point, especially with reports linking the club to Lamine Camara as a possible replacement.
