Bayern Munich Dismiss Reports Linking Them to Man City's Cherki

Speculation linking Manchester City attacker Rayan Cherki with a move to Bayern Munich has been shot down, with German sources indicating no substance to the rumors. The 23-year-old has impressed this season under Enzo Maresca, becoming a key player in City's attack.

Despite Cherki's strong form making him a potential target in the transfer market, Bayern Munich reportedly has no intention of pursuing him. According to Bayern insider Christian Falk, the club is not planning any moves for the French international, neither in the upcoming January transfer window nor as part of their broader recruitment strategy.

Falk directly inquired with Bayern board member Max Eberl, who confirmed that there are no plans to sign Cherki. Falk also added that the player was never on Bayern's shortlist, as the Bundesliga giants focused on other attacking targets during the summer. This stance aligns with Bayern's current squad situation, which includes players like Michael Olise, contracted until 2029, and Serge Gnabry, who extended his deal until 2028.

From Cherki's viewpoint, a departure from Manchester City seems unlikely at this point. He has enjoyed a stellar start to the season, contributing two goals and two assists in the Premier League, including a dominant two-goal performance in the 4-1 victory against Crystal Palace. This level of production suggests he is becoming increasingly vital to Maresca's plans rather than facing a lack of opportunities.

While Bayern might eventually seek winger reinforcements depending on squad changes, Cherki is currently not a priority. For Manchester City, this is positive news, as Cherki brings creativity, unpredictability, and versatility to their attack. At 23, his continued development and promising early-season statistics suggest a bright future ahead.
