The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Sunday the commencement of a pivotal "liberation battle" aimed at reclaiming state institutions, ending the Houthi coup, and restoring national sovereignty over all territories.
Colonel Rukun Majid Al-Nuzaili, the official spokesperson for the Armed Forces, stated in a declaration that this decisive military operation is intended to empower Yemenis to regain their state and rights. He emphasized that the objective is to re-establish state institutions, dismantle the vestiges of the coup, and ensure the establishment of a state where sovereignty rests solely with the people and governance is guided by the constitution and law.
Al-Nuzaili elaborated that the national battle seeks to recover all state territories, fully reinstate national sovereignty, and terminate what he described as the manifestations of the coup in areas forcibly occupied by the Houthi militia. He asserted that the Armed Forces and allied combatants are advancing with steadfastness, determination, and fighting spirit toward Houthi positions, urging Yemenis to support the military during this historically significant phase.
The military spokesperson characterized the liberation battle as the "true bridge" to reintegrate Yemen into its Arab context and strategic depth among its neighbors. He reaffirmed the right of the state and its citizens to reclaim all their rights and live with dignity.
The Armed Forces reiterated their call to elements and fighters within the Houthi group to lay down their arms and return to their homes, issuing a warning against continued participation in the fighting. Al-Nuzaili declared that the nation "has room for all its sons who return to the right path," and implored those fighting with the Houthis to withdraw from the conflict to preserve their lives. He concluded by urging support for the government forces and paying tribute to the fallen, wounded, prisoners, and abductees, affirming the commitment of the forces to achieving "victory and glory for Yemen and its people."
