Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund has indicated that contract talks with star striker Harry Kane are moving in a positive direction, though he remains cautiously optimistic.
While there's "no new development" to report officially, Freund confirmed that discussions are progressing well. Bayern is eager to secure Kane's future, especially given his phenomenal goal-scoring record since joining the club in 2023. The England captain has been a revelation, netting an astonishing 152 goals in 154 games for the German powerhouse.
Freund shared his thoughts at a press conference, stating, "There are always scenarios as long as it’s not signed. There’s no new development. The talks are going well. We’re very positive, everyone knows we’re determined to extend his contract and Harry feels very comfortable here."
Beyond his contract, Kane is emerging as a strong contender for the prestigious Ballon d'Or award. His remarkable performance last season saw him score 61 goals in 51 appearances across all competitions for Bayern, contributing significantly to their domestic double triumph. He also impressed on the international stage, scoring six goals for England at the World Cup.
Despite competition from players like Lamine Yamal and Rodri, Kane's current form presents a compelling case for the award. His continued success could also position Bayern as major contenders for the Champions League title this season.
