Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy reported on Thursday that seven vessels were struck and caught fire in the Persian Gulf, issuing a stern warning to the United States against further provocations in the region.
According to the IRGC statement, four vessels engaged in illegal oil transfers were simultaneously targeted and ignited after being monitored by its forces on Wednesday in the northern Persian Gulf.
The naval force further stated that an additional three vessels collided with mines in waters west of the Strait of Hormuz.
The IRGC also issued a direct warning to the U.S. military, asserting that continued provocations could escalate to a broader response targeting American bases in the region.
