The Iran-backed Houthi militia directed their supervisors to prevent Yemenis from performing Taraweeh prayers in all areas under their control.
Local sources said that a number of mosques in the capital Sana'a have closed their doors to worshipers under duress by the Houthi supervisors, considering that this is a directive from their high leadership.
Other local sources in Dar Selm stated that Abu Ali Al-Shouka, one of the Houthi supervisors, attacked the Al-Nasr Mosque, which called for Taraweeh prayers, and considered it outside Islam, and shot loudspeakers in the mosques.
These acts of harassing Muslims and the Sunnis and preventing them from performing religious rituals, according to an Iranian approach, directed its arms in the region to bulldoze Islam.
Iran annually arrests Sunni activists during Ramadan and prohibits the holding of Taraweeh prayers in regions such as Tehran and Ahwaz, and previous reports accused the authorities of preventing Sunnis from praying on Islamic holidays.
