Yemen's Islah militia attack female human right activists during protests in Taiz

The Islah party militia attacked demonstrators in Taiz Governorate (central Yemen), as a result of their criticism of corruption in the governorate.

Eyewitnesses said that a number of women affiliated with the Islah Party, who were planted by spies inside the demonstrations, assaulted many female activists as a result of their criticism of the corruption of Islah officials who take control all joints of the city.

In the same context, the Yemeni human right activist, Arwa Al-Shamiri, posted a video showing an attempt by a female Islah member who was planted in the midst of the demonstrations, to cut down some banners condemning the policy of the Islah party in the city.
Al-Shamiri said on her Facebook page that she along with other female activists were beaten.

Since last week, Taiz governorate has witnessed widespread protests against the backdrop of the deteriorating services, and against the authorities of the Islah Party, which dominates the security, military and administrative decision in the governorate.
