Informed sources in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, revealed that the Houthi militia has flooded the areas under their control with forged 1,000 Yemeni riyals banknotes, which are printed in the group's secret basements.

Activists on Facebook circulated a video clip, revealing the Houthi method of counterfeiting the currency, which is made of white paper with secret threads for the denomination of 1000 riyals of the 2006 edition.

According to the video clip that is being circulated, the method of counterfeiting the Yemeni currency is done easily after the Houthis obtain the paper for printing with the secret signs and tapes and the mark of the Central Bank of Yemen, in addition to the logo of the Republic of Yemen, on a white A4 paper, and then send it to printing.
