Egypt reported 1,057 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, bringing the total infection tally to 77,279 since the outbreak began in February.
On Monday Egypt fell below the 1,000 mark for the first time since late May as the ministry reported 969 new infections.
The health ministry also reported 67 new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths from the virus to 3,489.
The statement said that 480 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 21,718.
