Informed Yemeni sources revealed that the the Houthi appointed governor of Hodeidah, Muhammad Ayash Quhaim, was severely beaten by the escorts of two Houthi leaders, Youssef Al Maddani and Hadi Al Kahlani, while his movements were restricted.
Zawaya Arabia outline quoted its sources as saying that Al Maddani and Al Kahlani summoned Quhaim, stripped him of his escorts and his personal weapon, assaulted him and described him in the most horrific terms, and prevented him from acting unilaterally, and stripped him of his freedom of movement or attendance at meetings.
The disputes come as a result of the refusal of Houthi leaders from Hodeidah governorate to mobilize fighters with them, in addition to the escalating disputes between them over the revenue from corruption practiced by Houthi leaders in the governorate.
