Yemen's Tariq Saleh says Iran trained, funded the Houthis from an early age

Brigadier-General Tariq Mohammed Abdullah Saleh, The leader of the Yemen's National Resistance, said that the Houthis were created, trained and financed in Iran from an early age.

"Today the head of the Imamate appears again and imposes "discriminatory" religious tax on us, distinguishes between people according to dynasty". Saleh addressing The Houthis who imposed "Khums" tax.

Yemen's Houthis have instated a new law to pay mandatory religious tax to "the ruling family", the rebel-run ministry of legal affairs announced in a document last year.

The controversial move imposes a 20 percent "Khums" tax on "all economic activity involving natural resources such as the oil, gas and fishing industries".

Saleh said that the September 26 Revolution removed the eras of backwardness, moved our people to the era of democracy and freedom.

He stressed that the Houthis are shedding Yemeni blood with the aim of returning the wheel of history to the era of the Imamate, backwardness and racism, noting that Imamate racism divided Yemenis socially, politically and culturally and created conflict between local tribes.

"The Houthis have prevented every Yemeni from his legitimate right to a decent life". He added.
