Yemen: General People's Congress revives its activity in Shabwa

The General People's Congress (GPC) in Yemen resumed its organizational activities in Shabwa Governorate, days after the Yemeni president dismissed the authority loyal to the Islah party, and the liberation of the western directorates of the governorate.

A statement issued by the party said that it devoted its first meeting to standing up to the situation and developments in the governorate and at the national level, studying possible mechanisms for resuming the activity of the branch in the governorate in a way that would enable it to play its leading role under the current stage, along with all the national and honorable forces from the people of the governorate, working together to serve the governorate and its people and direct all efforts to confront the Houthis.

The leadership of the (GPC) branch in Shabwa blessed the forces of the Giants Brigades, which were able, within a short period, to liberate Bayhan district from the Iran-backed Houthis.

It considered that these victories establish a new stage on the road to liberate all areas of the Yemeni homeland from the Houthis.

The leadership of the (GPC) affirmed its support for the governor of Shabwa, Awad bin Mohammed al-Wazir.
