Fuel jumps to a historic barrier in the Houthi controlled-areas

Fuel in the areas controlled by the Iran-backed Houthis, jumped to a historic barrier, as the price of a gallon of gasoline (20 liters) exceeded YR39,000, and the price of household gas rose to record numbers of YR25,000 per cylinder in the black markets, which are run by the militia.

The Houthi militia are claiming the Arab coalition's detention of oil and gas tankers, while they are available to Houthi supervisors and the black markets.

Sources in the Red Sea navigation said that the gas tanker GAS ENERGY entered the port of Hodeidah on Wednesday, which contradicts the Houthi statements that there is a household gas crisis in Yemen.

The sources indicated that, in addition to that tanker, the Houthis have (9488) tons of gas, approximately (18,976,000 liters), which is sufficient to fill about 950,000 gas cylinders of 20 liters, with the density of gas differing from that of oil derivatives.

The Houthi militia receives oil subsidies from Tehran, which they sell to citizens at prices three times higher than in the global market, and imposed successive price increases on the prices of these materials, reaching tens of times their price in 2014.

In its report submitted to the UN Security Council, the international team of experts on Yemen recently revealed that the Houthis are creating a crisis in oil derivatives, in order to force traders to sell fuel on the black market they run and collect illegal fees.
