Houthi shelling injures a female student and a resident in the besieged city of Yemen's Taiz

A female student and a resident were injured on Tuesday by Houthi shelling, in two separate incidents in the eastern neighborhoods of the besieged city of Taiz (southwest of Yemen).

Local residents said that the Houthi militia bombed, with artillery and mortars, the neighborhoods of the Faculty of Literature, Salah, and Shamasi, east of the city. One of the shells fell in one of the neighborhoods surrounding the Faculty of Literature, injuring a female student, who happened to be in the area.

In the context, a resident was seriously injured while riding a motorcycle east of the city, as a result of being targeted by a Houthi sniper.

Human rights reports documented the killing and injuring of more than 17,000 civilians in Taiz by Houthi shelling, snipers and mines since the beginning of the war.
