A Yemeni photo exhibition was held on Monday in the Dutch city of Haarlem documenting the crimes of child recruitment in Yemen.
The exhibition, which was held by the Dutch Center in cooperation with Mayon Organization for Human Rights, was attended by Dr. Sahar Ghanem, Ambassador of Yemen to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Ghanem viewed dozens of photographs documenting the continued exploitation of children in Yemen, especially as recruits by the Houthi group.
The Yemeni ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Sahar Ghanem, said in a video statement that "the phenomenon of Houthi recruitment of children is one of the worst things that happened during this war because it not only destroys the present, but also the future."
The Yemeni Ambassador considered the Houthi recruitment of children to create more violent generations and a booby-trapped and broken future. It also comes at the expense of educated and conscious generations, which creates armed, militarized and violent bodies that destroy the ambitions of building the future of Yemen and the region.
For his part, head of the Yemeni Mayon Organization for Human Rights, Abdo Al-Hudhaifi, said that "the exhibition, which is being held in the friendly Kingdom of the Netherlands, is an important human rights event to introduce the violations that children are exposed to in Yemen".
"Tthe exhibition coincides with the activities of the 51st session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, and documents in photographs the continued exploitation of children in Yemen, especially by the Iran-backed Houthis". He added .
The exhibition was attended by a number of representatives of human rights organizations, human rights activists, members of the Yemeni community .
