Saudi Arabia confirms 822 new Coronavirus cases, 1,099 recoveries

Saudi Arabia has confirmed 822 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, the health ministry reported on Friday amid a drop in new infections.

Of the new cases, 48 were detected in the city of Jeddah, 48 in Mecca and 45 in al-Dammam.

The death toll has increased to 4,015 after 33 fatalities were reported since Thursday, according to the health ministry.

Meanwhile, the total number of recoveries climbed to 295,063 after 1,099 individuals who had previously tested positive recovered. The Kingdom has confirmed 319,141 total cases as of September 4.

Saudi Arabia recorded its highest daily on increase on June 19 when 4,301 cases were confirmed over a 24-hour period. New infections since then decreased reaching below 1,000 for the first in four months.
