Corruption is rampant in the funds set up by the Houthis

The minutes of the "House of Representatives" controlled by the Houthis in Sana'a revealed that corruption is rampant in private funds, specifically in the "Anti-Cancer" and "Support and Development of Hodeidah Governorate" funds, as these funds opened new doors to corruption and their resources, estimated at billions of riyals, were turned into budgets, in particular, the leaders and officials of the militias and their supervisors in the ministries, institutions and governorates spend in ways other than the legal ones for which they were established and without supervision or accountability, to go in the end to the purchase of land and real estate and the establishment of private companies.

Minutes of the Parliament session last November 28 in Sana'a stated that cancer patients are suffering in front of cancer treatment centers because the required treatments are not provided because the "Anti-Cancer Fund" did not disburse these treatments regularly, causing severe suffering to them that led to the death of some of them.

The report stated that the people of Hodeidah governorate suffer from high electricity prices, due to the failure of the “Fund for Support and Development of Hodeidah Governorate” to play any role, although it was established for this purpose.

The militias reap billions of riyals from the resources of the special funds, as they impose fees on all imports of fuel, gas, basic materials, food commodities, cigarettes, cement, telecommunications companies, etc. under the pretext of financing these funds, but they go to enrich the their  leaders at a time when employees were deprived of their salaries and retirees from their pensions.
