Houthis admit thousands of cases of dual career
The Iran-backed Houthis have admitted the existence of thousands of dual careers in the capital, Sana'a, and the governorates under their control, while depriving state employees of their regular salaries and pensioners of their pensions under the pretext of declining financial revenues.

In a leaked report, the Houthis admitted that thousands of loyalists were employed in two or more government agencies simultaneously in the first half of 2022, in violation of the law, including 3,158 of those whose financial data were available at the Ministry of Civil Service and Insurance in Sana'a.

The report issued by the Houthi-run "Central Organization for Control and Accountability" revealed that the state was charged with large sums of money due to amendments to dates of birth and appointment to the database of state employees, in addition to many existing imbalances, including non-compliance with the regulating laws.

As a result of the cases of dual career that have been spread in Houthi-controlled areas, the employee receives a salary from each employer in light of the lack of oversight and transparency.

The Houthis continue what has come to be known as the "Houthenization" of the public office by excluding thousands of employees in ministries, institutions and government agencies under the pretext of stopping work or referring to retirement, and replacing thousands of others of their followers on sectarian bases.
