Iran-backed Houthis kidnap the head of the Yemeni Teachers' Club

The Iran-backed Houthis have kidnapped Abu Zaid Al-Kamim, the head of the Yemeni Teachers' Club, from his house in Sanaa on Sunday.

This comes after more than a month of teachers' strikes protesting the Houthis' refusal to pay teachers' salaries.

Close sources to Al-Kamim said that the Houthis kidnapped him after surrounding his house completely.

The sources added that Houthi members took Al-Kamim to an unknown location as part of their campaign of oppression and intimidation against the educational staff demanding the payment of their withheld salaries for years.
