Exhibition of photos about "Child Rights Violations in Yemen" concluded

Yemen's Meyoun Organization for Human Rights and the Masam Project for Landmine Clearance concluded a photography exhibition in the city of Aden on Friday, under the slogan "Let's Move Together for the Protection of Children Affected by Conflicts".

The photography exhibition focused on highlighting the patterns of violations and crimes against childhood, victims of child recruitment and landmine planting.

It aimed to bring the local and international public opinion face to face with the tragic situation of childhood in Yemen and draw the attention of the United Nations to the continued danger of child recruitment and landmine planting in Yemen.

The exhibition included documentary films, informational flashcards, visual content, and explanatory texts detailing the violations in terms of time, place, type of violation, and names of victims. It also featured posters and introductory photos of the international campaign and the six grave violations against children's rights.

The president of Meyoun Organization explained in a press statement that this exhibition is a response to the international campaign launched by the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict under the slogan "Let's Move Together for the Protection of Children Affected by Conflicts".

He emphasized that this joint effort between the organization and the Masam Project falls within the framework of effective partnerships between organizations and projects operating in Yemen, showcasing their tangible contributions in defense of human rights, particularly the right to life.

The exhibition opening was attended by representatives from the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Aden, the United Nations Mission to Support the Hudaydah Agreement (UNMHA), Handicap International (HI), the Center for Civilians in Conflict (CIVIC), the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Works, as well as local human rights organizations, activists, and journalists.

It was also attended by executive office directors of the local authority in Aden, the representative of the Arab Coalition in Aden, Colonel Mohammed Al-Anzi, the head of the Supreme Military and Security Committee in the internationally recognized Yemeni government, Brigadier General Haitham Qasim Taher, and several committee members.
