campaign on (X) to uncover an American diplomatic relationship with the Houthis #AprilLongleyHouthis

The largest campaign on (X) was launched on Saturday in Yemen to reveal the relationship between American experts and the Houthi militia in Yemen.

Thousands of Yemenis are participating in the campaign under the hashtag (#AprilLongleyHouthis  #ابريل_مونجلي_حوثيه) to tell exclusive stories and interviews with Houthi leaders and American experts, in which the Houthis bought their loyalties to mislead President Joe Biden's administration.

The American positions towards Yemen have raised many question marks over the years regarding a number of controversial issues and situations, which prolonged the war and enabled extremist groups such as the Iran-backed Houthis to expand the conflict and exacerbate the humanitarian crises in the war-torn country.

The US administration is subjected to significant misleading by a group of experts who rely on them regarding the Yemeni issue, especially in terms of assessing positions and managing the crisis in Yemen with the Houthi group over the past years.

An American official, who preferred to remain anonymous, told Yemen Details that the Iran-backed Houthis managed to buy the loyalty of a number of American experts who the US administration and the UN envoy rely on in many issues.

In the same context, regional diplomatic sources said that the expert April Longley Alley, who is the senior Arabian Peninsula analyst for the International Crisis Group, works also as an advisor to the UN Special Envoy for Political Affairs, is responsible for the Yemen file and communicates with the Houthi group, providing them with various details and information in exchange for large sums of money that she receives directly. Repeated meetings were monitored between her and prominent Houthi figures, including Hussein Al-Azzi, the deputy foreign minister of the Houthis, and Mohammed Abdul-Salam and Abdulhakim Al-Khiwani, the head of the Houthi intelligence agency. She provides them with advice and information, which explains their constant refusal and non-compliance with the peace efforts made by international and regional parties involved in the Yemeni file.

Longley also worked as an advisor in the Yemen assessment team to the Commander of US Central Command, David Petraeus, and uses her relationships with some parties in the US administration to serve the prolongation of the war and empower the Houthis in Yemen.

The sources indicated that Longley has previous relationships with most of the rebel groups in Yemen, especially the Houthi militia. She has previously traveled to Saada and obtained multiple visas after the Houthi coup.

Through her work in the envoy's office, she conveyed sensitive information about the Saudi side to the Houthis, causing a change in the Houthis' stance. Accordingly, the Houthis escalated the situation on multiple fronts and turned their position towards rejection and refrained from engaging in any political agreements.

Diplomatic sources warned against the role played by Longle, which, as much as the international role fails, also distorts facts and presents an inaccurate image of what is happening in Yemen, misleading about the Houthi efforts to keep the region in a state of instability, serving suspicious agendas.
