US denies carrying out new strikes against Yemen’s Houthis

The United States on Sunday denied carrying out new strikes against Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi militia.

Earlier, the Houthis said that renewed US and British strikes hit the Houthi-held port city of Hodeida in the west of war-torn Yemen on Sunday.

“Airstrikes from the American-British aggression hit Hodeida,” Houthi media reported, marking the third consecutive day of reported strikes targeting the Houthis over its attacks on Red Sea shipping.

A US defense official told Al Arabiya English that there were no US or coalition strikes conducted in Yemen on Sunday.
