Mokha Festival Returns for Fourth Year, Drawing Large Crowds

The fourth annual "Eidna Mokha" festival commenced on the Mokha corniche, attracting a significant turnout of visitors and residents from across the West Coast and other Yemeni governorates to celebrate Eid al-Adha with artistic and entertainment events.


The festival's opening night, part of a three-day program, showcased the growing prominence of this annual event. The Mokha corniche was illuminated and decorated, adding a distinct festive atmosphere to the coastal city, which has emerged as a notable tourist and cultural destination in recent years.


The festival program includes singing sessions, diverse artistic, and entertainment segments aimed at all community segments. Notable Yemeni artists such as Suha Al-Masri, Hager Noman, Abdulrahman Al-Samawi, and Ali Mujahid are performing throughout the three evenings. Additional entertainment shows, competitions, and activities contribute to the joyful ambiance.


Organized by Al-Gomhouria Channel in partnership with the Mokha Culture Office, "Eidna Mokha" is considered one of the most significant cultural and artistic events during Eid al-Adha. This collaboration aims to stimulate cultural and tourist activities and promote community engagement, portraying a positive image of Mokha and providing recreational opportunities for families and visitors.


During the festival's opening, Sultan Mahmoud, Director of the Mokha district, emphasized that the festival's fourth consecutive year reflects Mokha's increasing status as a city of history, culture, tourism, and trade. He noted that the festival, under the patronage of the local authority and Al-Gomhouria Channel, follows the significant successes achieved by the city in development and services. Mahmoud highlighted the transformative progress Mokha has experienced in various sectors due to the attention and support from Tareq Saleh, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Commander of the National Resistance, and head of his political bureau, which has enhanced Mokha's appeal to visitors and investors.


Prominent social figure Ahmed Saad Rashed stated that Mokha is now an open city for all Yemenis, welcoming visitors from various governorates to partake in the festival's activities. He described the celebration as a joyous occasion for all Yemenis, not just Mokha's residents, and pointed to the unprecedented developmental, service, and urban renaissance that has made Mokha one of the most promising cities on the West Coast. Rashed added that the festival's continued success for four years underscores the city's stability and the security efforts ensuring a conducive environment for tourism, cultural, and entertainment activities.


Citizen Shawqi Ibrahim, attending with his family, expressed his delight with the festive atmosphere on the Mokha corniche, noting that the festival has become an anticipated annual event for the city and the West Coast residents. He observed Mokha's remarkable development in services, infrastructure, investments, and urban projects, highlighting the festival's role as an important tourist window showcasing the city's aesthetic and tourism potential. Ibrahim also noted the annual improvement in the festival's programs and participating artists, making it a unique event combining entertainment, culture, and art in an enjoyable family setting.


A female participant also conveyed her admiration for the festival's organization and quality, stating that "Eidna Mokha" has become a symbol of the city and an eagerly awaited annual gathering for residents and visitors during Eid al-Adha. She mentioned that Mokha has transformed into a preferred tourist destination for many Yemeni families due to its beautiful beaches, natural landscapes, and modern service and tourism projects, emphasizing that the city's security, stability, and rapid development have bolstered its position on the Yemeni tourism map.


The "Eidna Mokha 4" festival is set to continue its activities in the coming days, with expectations of increased visitor numbers due to its diverse program that blends art, entertainment, and culture, offering residents and visitors a festive Eid al-Adha celebration.
