Saleh Urges Government to Expedite Service Sector Reforms

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Lieutenant General Tarek Saleh, has emphasized the necessity for the government to accelerate fundamental solutions to address critical service sector deficiencies and improve citizens' living conditions.


During a meeting with Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Shayaa Al-Zindani, Saleh affirmed the Presidential Leadership Council's support for government efforts aimed at enhancing basic services and advancing economic and administrative reforms. He received a comprehensive briefing on the current service and economic situations, detailing governmental endeavors to confront prevailing challenges, particularly the improvement of public services and the bolstering of economic stability.


The discussion, attended by Minister of State for Parliament and Shura Council Affairs Dr. Abdullah Abu Horiah, reviewed urgent measures being implemented by the government to improve essential services, with a primary focus on stabilizing electricity supply. It also encompassed deliberations on financial and administrative reform pathways and the augmentation of state revenue generation.


Lieutenant General Saleh commended the support provided by Saudi Arabia to bolster government initiatives, referencing the recent $150 million aid package to secure fuel for power stations. He underscored the importance of optimizing the deployment of this support to effectively alleviate citizen hardship and enhance service delivery.


Saleh reiterated the council's backing for governmental directives to combat corruption, activate oversight bodies, and improve institutional performance. He called for the expedited execution of deep-rooted remedies for economic and service-related issues to yield tangible improvements in the daily lives of citizens.


In response, Prime Minister Dr. Al-Zindani expressed his appreciation for the Presidential Leadership Council's support for government efforts. He affirmed the government's commitment to continuing the implementation of comprehensive reform programs, addressing financial imbalances, and eliminating wastage to contribute to the improvement of essential services and the stabilization of the living conditions.
