Hodeidah, Yemen - The Hodeidah Governorate Police Department announced the apprehension and transfer of a suspect involved in the assassination of Brigadier Yahya Wahish, commander of the First Division of the National Resistance. The arrest and handover were facilitated through security coordination between authorities in Hodeidah and Taiz governorates.
Security officials stated that Taiz Governorate's State Security agency took custody of the wanted individual based on a report from the Hodeidah Police Department, which had circulated the suspect's information to various security agencies for apprehension. The Taiz security forces successfully detained the suspect within the governorate's central district before transferring him to Taiz State Security to complete the necessary legal proceedings.
Brigadier Najib Warq, Director General of Hodeidah Governorate Police, directed the dispatch of a delegate from his department to coordinate with a delegate from Taiz State Security. Following coordination, the suspect was received and transported to the West Coast, where he was held alongside other individuals previously arrested in connection with the assassination case. Brigadier Warq, along with Brigadier Zayed Mansour, Commander of the Hodeidah Axis, personally oversaw the operation and transfer of the suspect to the relevant authorities in Hodeidah.
The Hodeidah Police Department emphasized that this operation is part of ongoing security efforts to finalize investigations, uncover all details surrounding Brigadier Wahish's assassination, and bring all perpetrators to justice.
In a concluding remark, a security source expressed regret over inaccuracies reportedly present in a news release issued by the General Directorate of Taiz Governorate Police, noting that certain information within that release did not accurately reflect the actual events and procedures undertaken.
