Chelsea's £64M Alex Scott Bid Rejected by Bournemouth Amidst Growing Interest

Chelsea has reportedly seen a £64 million transfer bid for midfielder Alex Scott rejected by Bournemouth, as the Cherries fight to keep hold of their highly-rated talent. Scott, 22, has been a standout performer for Bournemouth, making him a prime target for several top clubs this summer.

While Chelsea made the latest significant offer, Bournemouth has also previously turned down an inquiry from Arsenal for the English midfielder, according to BBC Sport. Chelsea, fresh off the signing of Morgan Rogers, had hoped to further bolster their squad with Scott.

Bournemouth, however, appears determined not to let Scott depart easily. Sky Sports reports that Scott has declined a new contract offer, hinting at a potential exit, though his current contract extends until 2028, relieving immediate pressure on the club to sell.

Beyond Chelsea and Arsenal, interest in Scott is widespread, with Manchester United, Manchester City, and Tottenham also reportedly monitoring the situation, according to the BBC. This indicates a significant transfer battle could be brewing for the young midfielder.

Adding another layer to the speculation, Scott's former manager at Bournemouth, Andoni Iraola, who now manages Liverpool, has previously lauded him as "amazing." While Liverpool's interest isn't concrete yet, Iraola's admiration could see the Reds enter the fray, potentially as an upgrade on Alexis Mac Allister.
