Man City Midfielder Reijnders Open to £55m Transfer Amidst Forest Interest

Manchester City midfielder Tijjani Reijnders is reportedly a £55 million transfer target for Nottingham Forest this summer, with the player himself open to a move for more first-team action.

Reijnders, who joined City just a year ago after impressing at AC Milan, has not quite met expectations at the Etihad. Despite the high hopes following his transfer to a top Premier League club, he managed to start only 19 league games for City last season.

According to reports, the 28-year-old Dutch international is keen on securing more playing time, and Nottingham Forest have emerged as serious contenders, reportedly lining up a £55 million bid. However, Manchester City might be holding out for closer to £60 million, a price that previously deterred Atletico Madrid earlier in the transfer window.

Nottingham Forest, flush with cash after the reported £116 million sale of Elliot Anderson to City, has the financial muscle for such a deal. It remains to be seen if they will push hard for Reijnders, who, despite his talent, has struggled in English football and is not the youngest player in the market.

This potential transfer comes as Manchester City braces for a summer of change. With Pep Guardiola stepping down and Enzo Maresca taking the helm, several players are expected to depart the Etihad. Speculation also surrounds Rodri, with Real Madrid reportedly interested, and James Trafford is strongly linked with Leeds United, while Tottenham continues to pursue Savinho.
