Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in line to receive a significant windfall of up to £5 million if striker Troy Parrott completes a transfer from AZ Alkmaar to West Ham United this summer.
Parrott, the Republic of Ireland international, had limited first-team chances at Spurs before embarking on five loan spells, ultimately leading to his sale to Dutch club AZ Alkmaar. He has since found his stride in the Eredivisie, netting an impressive 51 goals in 96 appearances.
According to talkSPORT, Parrott's impressive form has caught the eye of West Ham United, who are reportedly preparing a £25 million bid. Crucially, Tottenham included a 20% sell-on clause in Parrott's original transfer agreement, meaning they are entitled to a substantial percentage of any future sale.
West Ham, aiming to bolster their squad for a promotion push, have already seen some positive movement in the transfer window. Securing Jarrod Bowen is a major win, and they've also generated funds through player sales, including Mateus Fernandes to Spurs and Crysencio Summerville to Al Hilal. This financial flexibility could pave the way for a move for Parrott.
However, the prospect of a move to the London Stadium might be a tough sell for the 24-year-old. Having established himself as a key player in a major European league and recently winning a cup final with AZ, Parrott may weigh the appeal of a Premier League promotion battle against his current success and comfort at his current club.
