The Bundesliga club confirmed on Thursday that an agreement was in place for the 19-year-old winger to join the Spanish giants, marking one of the summer's most significant transfers. Their official announcement featured the caption "Here we ACTUALLY go," a direct and humorous reference to Romano's signature "Here we go!" that he uses to confirm deals.
This witty announcement quickly gained traction online, with football fans enjoying the banter from the German club as they finalized Diomande's transfer to the Santiago Bernabéu. The post included a video showcasing Diomande's highlights, celebrating his impressive first season with RB Leipzig where he scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists in 36 appearances.
The playful jab stems from earlier developments in the transfer saga. Romano had initially reported on July 26 that Diomande's move to Real Madrid was agreed upon for over €100 million. However, this report was soon contested by Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg and Leipzig's sporting director Marcel Schäfer, who stated that negotiations were still ongoing and a final agreement had not been reached.
