Striker Liam Delap, who has struggled at Chelsea since his £30 million move in 2025, is reportedly leaning towards staying in the Premier League despite interest from Italian club Como.
Como, managed by Cesc Fabregas and preparing for a Champions League campaign, are keen to bring the 23-year-old to Serie A on loan. They see him as a potential solution to bolster their attack, especially after hitting a roadblock in negotiations for Fiorentina's Moise Kean.
However, fresh reports suggest that convincing Delap to leave England is Como's main hurdle. While a loan move could offer him a chance to regain form after a tough season at Stamford Bridge where he netted just twice in 41 appearances, Delap's preference is reportedly to remain in the English top flight.
Newcastle United and Everton have previously shown interest, though no concrete offers have materialized yet. Chelsea, who now value Delap around £40 million, face a decision between facilitating a loan to potentially increase his value or cashing in for a profit.
A spell under Fabregas at Como could offer Champions League football and a chance to develop his game. Yet, Delap's proven track record in the Premier League, including 12 goals for Ipswich prior to his Chelsea transfer, makes a domestic move understandable for rebuilding his reputation and staying on the international radar.
