Social media influencer Yoatzi Castro reported being sexually assaulted while livestreaming at Disneyland on Wednesday evening, an incident that led to an arrest by the Anaheim Police Department.
Castro, who was at the theme park celebrating a friend's birthday, alleged that a man groped her while she was posing for a photo in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. The incident was partially captured on her Twitch livestream.
In a video posted to Instagram shortly after the event, Castro expressed her distress, stating, "I am so... livid and I am so upset." She added, "I’m so grateful that we were livestreaming and we were able to capture it." The clip shared shows the man walking past Castro, his hand briefly obscured as it makes contact with her, prompting Castro to react physically and verbally.
Castro reported that Disneyland security officers located the man, and Disneyland staff subsequently notified the Anaheim Police Department. Police arrested the individual on suspicion of sexual battery. According to Anaheim police spokesman Eric Anderson, the man was cited and released on the same evening, with a court date pending. Police have not released the man's name and are not aware of any prior incidents involving him.
A spokesperson for Disneyland declined to comment on the incident. Castro, who plans to press charges, shared her experience on social media to raise awareness, stating, "As women, we always have to have our guard up, because you never know when men like this are around us."
