Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres has expressed frustration over his limited playing time this season, admitting it's a difficult situation and fueling speculation about a potential club exit.
The Swedish international has found himself lower in the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium, with Kai Havertz starting all Premier League matches so far. Gyokeres has even been an unused substitute in some games, leading him to reportedly consider leaving the club, with initial contact made with four other teams.
When questioned about his current role, Gyokeres did not shy away from the uncertainty surrounding his future. "Of course it’s frustrating, no matter where it is," he told Swedish outlet SVT. "You always want to be on the field and contribute, score goals. It can be frustrating sometimes but I just try to do my best when I get the chance and focus on what I can control."
While Gyokeres' potential departure might evoke mixed feelings among Arsenal fans, his contributions last season cannot be overlooked. The 28-year-old netted 21 goals across all competitions, playing a role in Arsenal's Premier League title win and their Champions League final appearance. However, it appears manager Mikel Arteta may not be fully convinced by his all-around game compared to other options like Havertz, judging by his reduced role at the start of the current campaign.
