Chelsea and Liverpool are reportedly making moves for highly-rated Brentford left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf, with both Premier League giants having contacted the 21-year-old's representatives.
Diouf, who only joined the Bees in August, has quickly impressed with his speed, athleticism, and attacking flair from the left flank. This has sparked significant interest from top clubs looking for future defensive talent.
While Brentford are keen to keep hold of their new signing, reports suggest that a fee between €50 million and €60 million might be needed to prise him away. Diouf arrived from West Ham for a substantial fee and signed a long-term deal, indicating Brentford's belief in his potential.
Brentford's head coach has previously lauded Diouf's development and immediate impact in the Premier League. The club is understood to have no plans to sell him in the January transfer window, viewing him as a key part of their long-term strategy.
For Chelsea, Diouf fits their model of acquiring young, athletic players with high resale value. Liverpool's interest is also logical as they plan for the future of their left-back position, especially with current options facing challenges.
Despite the growing interest from elite clubs, Brentford holds a strong negotiating position due to Diouf's contract running until 2031. Any move in January appears unlikely, but if the young defender continues his upward trajectory, interest is expected to intensify, potentially forcing Brentford's hand with a significant offer.
