Government forces launched Friday a military operation in Haja, northwest Yemen, and managed to capture al-Mehsam military camp, military sources said.
Backed by airstrikes launched by the Saudi-led coalition, government forces managed to besiege Haradh town after capturing al-Mehsam Camp, said commander of the 5th Military Region Yahya Salah.
He called on Houthi fighters in Haradh to “give up arms and surrender,” affirming that they have no other choice.
This comes amid new advances made by government forces west of Taiz city, following several days of constant clashes in Gabal Habshi district.
Field sources say government forces are expected to retake the main high way between Taiz and Hodeidah provinces as it is now withing firing range of their artillery.
