The General Union of Yemeni Journalists calls for implementation of the outcomes of the Yemeni consultations

The General Union of Yemeni Journalists called on all Yemeni parties that participated in the consultations and the Presidential Council to quickly implement the agreed outcomes, and implement what was agreed upon, especially in the media aspect, in which the proposed solutions provided for addressing national media issues, and making major reforms in the structure of the Ministry of Information and its affiliated institutions, neutralizing the official media from side political conflicts, appointing professional leaders and competencies at the head of official institutions, and paying attention to press and media cadres in various aspects.

The (GUYJ) called on the Presidential Council, the Yemen government, and all civil media organizations, to quickly form the National Media Council, and to involve the largest possible number of national and specialized institutions in accordance with laws and a comprehensive national strategy for the media, that enhances the cohesion of the home front and rationalizes the media discourse, according to what is included in the package of treatments, in the outputs of the consultations.

The (GUYJ) also called on the Yemen Presidential Council and the government to quickly pay the salaries and entitlements of workers in media institutions to ensure that they live a decent life and perform their work away from political and regional polarization.
