Turkey recorded 1,429 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, bringing the total official number to 182,727, according to a chart posted on Twitter by Health Minister Fahrettin Koca.
The death toll from the virus, in the meantime, reached 4,861 with an increase of 19 in the last 24 hours.
In a worrisome sign, the number of patients in intensive care continued its upward trend, increasing by 13 to 745, the chart indicated.
Active cases, however, number around 25,000, with more than 154,000 people having recovered.
