 ‘Unprecedented blow:’ Hezbollah’s Nasrallah says Israel ’violated all red lines’

Hezbollah chief Hasan Nasrallah said on Thursday that Israel “violated all red lines,” by detonating thousands of pagers earlier this week, admitting that the party has been dealt an “unprecedented blow.”

Nasrallah also said that Israel, by detonating thousands of pagers and walkie-talkies on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, intended to kill at least 5,000 people within two minutes.

 stop unless the war on Gaza is halted.

Hezbollah began trading fire with Israel on Oct. 8, a day after its Palestinian ally Hamas attacked southern Israel, sparking the Gaza war. Tens of thousands of people have fled both sides of the border.

Hamas carried out one of the deadliest attacks on Israel last October, which saw at least 1,000 Israelis killed. In response, Israel launched military operation in the Gaza Strip.

Israel has said in recent weeks that it wanted to focus of the northern front, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowing on Wednesday to return tens of thousands of residents evacuated from border areas to their homes.

Addressing Netanyahu and Defense Minister Gallant, Nasrallah warned Israel that it “won’t be able to return its residents to the north,” unless the Gaza war stops.
