Three crew members sustained serious injuries when a roll-on/roll-off cargo vessel was struck in a drone attack in the vicinity of Russia's Black Sea port of Novorossiysk. The incident occurred late on Monday.
The vessel, identified as the Nadezhda, was en route from Novorossiysk to Samsun, Turkey, when it was targeted approximately 20 nautical miles off the coast of Novorossiysk. This information was released by Turkey's maritime authority in a statement.
All 22 individuals aboard the ship were successfully evacuated to Russia. Among them, three crew members were reported to be in serious condition. A fire broke out in the bow of the cargo ship and was reportedly still burning.
The identity of the perpetrator responsible for the attack on the vessel remains unconfirmed at this time.
