Tottenham's decision to sell highly-rated defender Luka Vuskovic to Brighton & Hove Albion for a potential £50 million, without him making a senior competitive appearance for the club, has been a talking point, with the young Croatian now breaking his silence on the move.
Vuskovic, who spent time on loan in the Bundesliga before his permanent switch, addressed his surprising departure from North London. He offered a measured response, appreciating Tottenham's early investment in him and the collaborative approach to finding suitable loan clubs for his development.
“I wouldn’t go back to that too much. I appreciate that Tottenham recognised me as a very young player, that they invested in me at the time and that together we found good solutions and clubs where I could play and develop,” Vuskovic told Sportske Novosti.
He remained diplomatic regarding the club's hierarchy and coaching staff, stating, “Coaches, directors, boards and sporting policies change at clubs, and it’s not for me to comment on their decisions.”
Since joining Brighton, Vuskovic has quickly integrated into the team, contributing to their strong start under manager Fabian Hürzeler. The Seagulls boast an impressive defensive record, having conceded only four goals early in the season, highlighted by a recent commanding 3-0 clean sheet against champions Arsenal.
