Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the co-pilot involved in the near-disaster on a FlyDubai flight en route to Israel had undergone Islamist radical indoctrination.
Speaking in an interview with Fox News, Netanyahu asserted, "We know that he underwent Islamist radical indoctrination." The motive behind the harrowing incident on FlyDubai flight FZ1073, traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv, remains undetermined. Passengers reportedly subdued the attacker, and a reserve crew aboard successfully landed the aircraft in Saudi Arabia.
Netanyahu, interviewed on "Fox & Friends," indicated that conclusions regarding potential connections between the co-pilot and Iran would be forthcoming within days. He commented, "I think it's too early to say whether he had any connections with Iran or with any anyone else."
The Prime Minister suggested that the co-pilot's actions indicated suicidal intent. He elaborated, "If you couple that with the what I just told you about the Islamist tendencies, that radicalization that are found in his background, I think that's - that'll give us the a pretty good clue. But again, I don't make final conclusions yet. But that's the indications we have now."
