WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook outages reported globally

 LONDON: Facebook-owned Instagram and WhatsApp, as well as Facebook Messenger, were down globally on Friday, according to reports.

Many users said they were unable to log in or use the apps. The website Downdectector.com reported issues with the apps around the world.

Other users also said Facebook and Facebook Messenger were down, with reports suggesting the outages might be affecting a larger number of users.

Instagram was showing users a server error while Facebook was also running an error message for some users attempting to log in.

Downdetector tracks outages by collating status reports from a series of sources, including user-submitted errors on its platform.
