Yemen's Hodeidah people are subjected to abuse by Iran-backed Houthis

Popular frustration have been increased by the people of Yemen's Hodeidah, especially the people of Tihama, which is causing them to be subjected to exclusion, marginalization, and abuse by the Iran-backed Houthis.

Rights and political activist Ibrahim Quhim said that the people of Tihama suffer from the Houthi militia's view of them as "traitors, criminals and corrupt", and they are excluded, marginalized and humiliated, even though the people of Tihama are the owners of the land.

In a post on his Facebook page, Quhim considered that the humiliating treatment of the people of Tihama by what he described as "the owners of the plateau and dynasty", as a result of their kindness and their long silence on the corruption practiced by the Houthi leadership.

He stressed that the leaders of the Houthis continue to detract from the personality of people of Tihama, especially in their rude treatment of supervisors from the people of Tihama by beating and insulting, wondered if the same method is practiced by the Houthi in the rest of the areas under their control.

Quhim recounted the militia’s method of luring innocent people by sending them to Sana’a and other areas under the pretext of receiving cultural training courses, but they never return after that, and when their families search for them, the Houthis say that they are spies, then they get rid of them by killing or imprisoning.
