The Iran-backed Houthi militia’s closure of Sanaa Airport to aid is “very worrying,” the United Nations Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths said during a UN Security Council session on the latest developments in the country on Tuesday.
Griffiths told the Security Council that he sent an “advanced draft” of a ceasefire deal to Yemen’s warring parties last week and “now is the time for the parties to swiftly conclude the negotiations.”
The time has come for all parties involved in Yemen to reach an agreement, he added.
